Mastercard Joins XRP Ledger Hackathon as XRP ETF Adjusts Pricing Amid Price Volatility

Mastercard is strengthening its connection to the Ripple ecosystem just as XRP ETF flows begin to recover. Although the token remains far from its previous peaks, the combination of institutional infrastructure and new capital rotation is sufficient to place XRP back on trading desks’ watchlists this week.

The XRP Ledger Foundation announced Mastercard as a sponsor for the XRP Ledger Hackathon, a 36-hour event scheduled for October 24-25, preceding Ripple Swell 2026 (October 27-29). The Foundation described the payments giant’s participation as “thrilled” and significant, positioning the decade-old XRP network as “ideally suited for payment use cases.”

This announcement follows Mastercard’s March initiative to include Ripple alongside Binance, PayPal, Circle, and other partners in a broader blockchain-payments partnership program.

Simultaneously, 21Shares has modified how its XRP ETF prices the underlying asset. This technical adjustment arrives as ETF inflows demonstrate renewed momentum following a difficult period.
