Raúl Pal outlined the timeline for major banks’ transition to Ethereum., 2026/04/17 15:57:06

Economist, founder, and CEO of Real Vision, Raoul Pal, stated that major global banks are expected to transition to the Ethereum blockchain within one to two years.
According to Pal, large financial institutions typically do not utilize critical systems built on untested technologies. They prefer infrastructure with a long operational history, high liquidity, a well-established developer community, and clear security standards.
In this regard, the businessman believes that Ethereum stands out as the most likely candidate due to the network’s resilience, accumulated operational experience, and scalability options.
“Major global banks are capable of transferring clearing, settlement, and asset custody operations to Ethereum within 12 to 18 months. This transition could unlock liquidity for tokenized assets amounting to $4.2 trillion by 2027,” Pal suggested.
The economist believes that further development will hinge on the market’s readiness for standardization and collaboration among participants. This, according to the entrepreneur, will determine the pace of transition from isolated initiatives to the comprehensive adoption of blockchain technology within the global financial system.
Earlier, analysts from the Artemis platform reported that between January and March, the Ethereum blockchain recorded a historic number of transactions since its inception. Over three months, the figure reached 200.4 million operations.
