Playnance has revealed the upcoming launch of PlayBlock, a Layer-3 gaming ecosystem built on the Arbitrum Orbit.

A press release distributed to Cryptonews.com indicated that PlayBlock aims to expand Playnance’s offerings in the gaming sector and attract more than 10,000 daily active users by presenting a range of gaming options.

Gaming Network with Improved User Experience

In partnership with Gelato’s Rollup-as-a-Service (RaaS) Platform, PlayBlock intends to advance web3 gaming by removing gas fees and addressing conventional blockchain limitations. This initiative could provide game developers extensive white-labeling opportunities and seamless platform integrations to tackle prevalent user experience challenges.

Roman Levi, CTO at Playnance, highlighted the platform’s design objectives. “Our ambition is driven by the goal to merge the advantages of Web3 on-chain gaming with the enjoyment and accessibility of traditional games, all without the complexities of web3,” he remarked.

The chain is designed to accommodate a wide variety of games, ranging from decentralized trading to sports and arcade genres, aimed at appealing to a diverse user audience.

PlayBlock Utilizing Arbitrum’s Technological Benefits

PlayBlock also utilizes Arbitrum Nitro’s rollup technology for its functionality. This integration is intended to create a more user-friendly gameplay experience on the blockchain, improving aspects such as transparency, fairness, and ownership of in-game assets.

The incorporation of Arbitrum Anytrust technology further allows the network to achieve a 250ms block time and near-instant transaction finality, enabling the processing of thousands of transactions per second.

PlayBlock will introduce the PBG token, taking advantage of Orbit’s native gas token feature to provide a zero-gas fee environment for gamers. Additionally, the launch of PlayBlock Layer3’s own stablecoin USDP, pegged to the U.S. dollar, aims to reduce market volatility.

“Playnance approached us with a request to create an end-to-end gaming platform that could support thousands of games and millions of users,” stated Gelato founder Hilmar Orth.

“We developed a gaming-first, fully-serviced, auto-scalable rollup infrastructure that enables Playnance to expand and scale rapidly while concentrating on their core business,” Orth added.
