Nvidia, the American semiconductor manufacturer, has teamed up with Vietnamese IT firm FPT to establish a $200 million artificial intelligence (AI) facility in Vietnam. This partnership, revealed on April 23, aims to create a center for AI and cloud computing services within the Asian nation.
The joint announcement indicated that the FPT and Nvidia AI factory will function as a “sovereign cloud,” concentrating on AI research and development utilizing Nvidia’s cutting-edge technologies. These encompass Nvidia AI Enterprise software and frameworks, along with Nvidia H100 Tensor Core GPUs.

The Nvidia AI factory will offer cloud GPU services to FPT’s corporate clients worldwide, providing them access to essential resources aimed at enhancing research capabilities, expanding AI applications, and reaching productivity and customer experience objectives.

The objective of this collaboration is to establish Vietnam as an “AI hub of the world” while accelerating the implementation of AI applications in neighboring nations such as Japan and South Korea.
As part of this partnership, FPT has become a member of the “NVIDIA Partner Network” as a Service Delivery Partner, positioning itself as a Global Systems Integrator. This will enable the IT company to utilize Nvidia’s advanced products and technologies to create customized cloud services, hardware, software, and particularly, generative AI solutions.
During the signing event, Dr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman and Founder of FPT Corporation, expressed enthusiasm regarding the partnership.

He emphasized that the partnership between FPT and Nvidia will empower organizations throughout Vietnam to drive transformation and assist the country in becoming a leader in AI technology.
AI Industry Attracts Increased Investments From Major Tech Companies
The collaboration between FPT and Nvidia follows substantial investments from other major tech companies in the global AI sector.
On April 16, software giant Microsoft invested $1.5 billion in G42, an AI-focused company in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This partnership enables G42 to leverage Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing platform to enhance its AI services and applications, thereby improving the safety and security of its infrastructure.
