O’Leary mentioned that he previously invested in numerous small tokens but has reevaluated his approach due to changes in cryptocurrency regulations in the country and the emergence of major firms actively acquiring Bitcoin and Ethereum. The Canadian entrepreneur concluded that large investors have reshaped the market, leading to a lack of stability in most altcoins, which no longer justify their presence in investment portfolios.

The chairman of O’Leary Ventures further noted that following the cryptocurrency market crash in October of last year, thousands of lesser-known crypto assets essentially vanished, reinforcing his decision to divest from obscure altcoins.

“I used to maintain 27 different positions. However, all you really need are Bitcoin and Ethereum. The remaining 97% of tokens are too volatile and therefore unattractive. What happened to the other crypto assets? They collapsed in October of last year. Thousands of them have yet to recover. So why not just own these two?” O’Leary stated.

Despite the volatility in the cryptocurrency market, O’Leary remains confident in its long-term potential. He attributed his optimistic outlook to the increasing use of in international payments and transactions. O’Leary believes that the role of crypto assets in global commerce is far more significant for the growth of the crypto industry than short-term price fluctuations.

Previously, the investor suggested that large corporations are hesitant to purchase substantial amounts of due to potential quantum attacks on the Bitcoin blockchain. He is convinced that unless developers provide an effective solution to secure the blockchain of the first cryptocurrency, Bitcoin’s share in investors’ portfolios is unlikely to exceed 3%.
