Candidate Backed by Crypto PAC Secures Nomination in Arizona Congressional Election
Democratic congressional candidate Yassamin Ansari, backed by a crypto PAC, has achieved a narrow victory over her opponent by a margin of 39 votes in the primary election.
Ansari’s rival, Sen. Raquel Terán, received an endorsement from prominent crypto critic Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
Ansari’s slim primary win follows significant support from Fairshake, the leading political action committee (PAC) in the crypto space, which invested approximately $1.4 million in advertising to bolster her campaign.
“We were proud to support a leader who will come to Congress and work across the aisle and embrace innovation to grow our economy,” stated Josh Vlasto, a spokesperson for Fairshake, at that time.
The Fairshake super PAC and its associated groups have also committed $12 million to challenge current Sen. Sherrod Brown in Ohio and to support Ohio Senate candidate Bernie Moreno.
Moreover, the crypto PAC announced plans to allocate $3 million each in Arizona and Michigan to assist Republican representatives.
On Tuesday, Ansari expressed to reporters that this “landslide victory” with a 39-vote margin is the “result of extensive effort.”
“This 39-vote difference has been a testament to what we as Democrats already know: every vote matters.”
Conversely, LUCHA Arizona, a liberal community organizing group, remarked that the community is “mourning” Raquel Terán’s defeat to “crypto and MAGA money candidate Ansari.”
Alejandra Gomez, Executive Director of LUCHA, also criticized Ansari, labeling her a “crypto billionaire-backed, MAGA-funded candidate.” Gomez accused her of utilizing open congressional seats as a means to advance personal political aspirations.
Crypto Super PAC Fairshake’s $25 Million Fund in Election Ad Campaign
The crypto PAC Fairshake advocates for candidates who are in favor of “a clearer regulatory and legal framework” for the blockchain industry.
Notably, it has unveiled a $25 million television advertising initiative aimed at more than a dozen crypto-friendly candidates for the House of Representatives.

Currently, the Super PAC Fairshake supports 18 candidates for the House of Representatives from both political parties.
