Bitcoin Price Prediction: StarkWare Cuts Quantum-Safe Solution Cost by 79%
Bitcoin is trading near $84,000, down 3.5% for the day, but the more significant development this week is unrelated to price predictions. The key figure is $67, the new estimated cost to build a quantum-resistant Bitcoin transaction. This represents a 79% reduction from the $320 cost when StarkWare mined the first such transaction on the mainnet in August, achieved in just one week of open optimization work.
This progress stems from the Quantum-Safe Bitcoin Optimization Challenge, a collaboration between StarkWare, Yukon Research, and Eigen Labs. According to their report, the teams invited developers, researchers, and AI agents to reduce the GPU-hours required to construct the transaction.
A post-quantum-secure Bitcoin tx now costs an estimated $67 in GPU compute.
In just ONE WEEK, devs and AI agents cut that cost by 79%, down from $320.

StarkWare’s dashboard currently displays the figure at $66. The team noted bluntly: “A construction that costs a few hundred dollars per transaction is a demo. One that costs $67 is closer to something a holder with a large unexposed balance might reach for in an emergency.”
This is positive news. The quantum risk to Bitcoin has long been theoretical enough to ignore, but the cost of defending against it is now approaching a rounding error compared to a whale’s transaction fee. Against this backdrop, Bitcoin’s price action this week reflects a period of consolidation following a sharp round trip.

Bitcoin Price Prediction: Can BTC Hold $84,000 This Week?
Bitcoin’s pullback to the $84,000–$84,500 zone followed hotter-than-expected PMI data, which pushed Treasury yields higher and dented risk appetite across the crypto sector, causing the total market cap to fall 3% in the session. This marks a sharp reversal from the rally that took BTC to approximately $87,500 after U.S. spot ETFs recorded an estimated $998.95 million in net inflows on September 21.

The $84,000–$84,400 band is now the critical support level. It overlaps a key Fibonacci retracement zone and the recent breakout shelf. A break below this level exposes $82,193, followed by $78,571. Holding this level makes a retest of $86,381, and subsequently the $87,400 ceiling, realistic. Recent technical analysis flags $90,000–$92,000 as the next major resistance if momentum returns, with $104,433 cited as a stretch target should the recovery extend further.

Bitcoin Hyper Targets Early Mover Upside as Bitcoin Tests Key Levels
A rejection near $87,000 followed by a slide back under $85,000 is the kind of volatility that tests conviction rather than confidence. Bitcoin holding above six figures, yet remaining distant from $100,000 while yields tighten, serves as a reminder that beta exposure at this scale does not move quickly.
Bitcoin’s market capitalization is simply too large for outsized short-term returns, even on positive news such as the 79% cost reduction for quantum defenses. This has shifted a portion of trader attention toward earlier-stage infrastructure projects building directly on top of Bitcoin’s base layer.

Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER) is positioning itself as the first Bitcoin Layer 2 with SVM integration, aiming to bring Solana-grade execution speed to the Bitcoin ecosystem without compromising its consensus security. The project’s presale has raised more than $33 million to date, with tokens priced at $0.0136867 and staking rewards offered at a high 30% APY.
Its Decentralized Canonical Bridge aims to address the slow transaction times, high fees, and lack of programmability that have kept Bitcoin’s base chain largely inert for smart contract activity.
