Visa Survey Shows Nearly Half of APAC Consumers Eyeing Stablecoins for Everyday Use by 20310

Visa has released new survey findings indicating growing consumer interest in for practical payments across the Asia Pacific region.

The company reports that 46% of consumers are likely to use stablecoins within the next five years, compared to 16% who have used them in the past 12 months.

Awareness stands at 66%, yet only 6% demonstrate an accurate understanding of how they work.

Interest focuses on online purchases, travel spending, and cross-border transfers, with 49% believing stablecoins could become common for international money movement within five years.

Awareness peaks in Hong Kong at 84%, India at 80%, and Thailand at 77%, while intent to use is strongest in Vietnam and India at 67% each.

Trust and clarity remain key hurdles, with 38% of non-users worried about fraud and scams and 36% citing a lack of understanding.

Consumers favor regulated providers, with 27% trusting government or central bank entities and 26% preferring banks or regulated financial institutions.

Nischint Sanghavi, Head of Digital Currencies, Asia Pacific at Visa, stated:

“We’re seeing a meaningful shift in how consumers across Asia Pacific think about stablecoins. Consumers are beginning to see how stablecoins could support the ways they already spend and move money, particularly through online purchases, travel, and cross-border transfers. The opportunity now is to turn that interest into trusted and familiar payment experiences that work at scale.”

The company is confirming its approach to integration.

“This research confirms what we’ve been building toward. Consumers want stablecoins to feel like a natural part of the payments they already trust, not a separate system. Our role is to connect emerging stablecoin technology with the secure, familiar payment experiences consumers rely on every day.”

The Visa Consumer 360 study polled 14,250 people aged 18 to 65 across 14 markets in June and July 2026.
