Pudgy Penguins Collection Launch on Amazon Generates More Than $500,000 in Two Days0

  • The collection generated sales exceeding $500,000, according to Luca Netz, CEO of the initiative.
  • A New York Times article in 2021 significantly boosted the initial release of Pudgy Penguins.

The newly launched “Phygital” Toy Collection & Experience for the well-known NFT collection Pudgy Penguins on the major online retailer Amazon has led to a surge in interest and sales. In the initial two days, over 20,000 Pudgy Penguins were sold, resulting in sales surpassing $500,000, as reported by Luca Netz, CEO of the initiative.

In a series of tweets yesterday, Netz articulated the team’s objective, stating that “they want Pudgy Penguins to succeed while also advancing the space,” emphasizing their current focus on drawing millions of individuals into the domain in ways that the company itself cannot yet foresee.

Enhancing NFT Adoption

In a statement on his website, Alejandro Navia, co-founder and president of the NFT content and analytics platform nftnow, mentioned that the toys have outperformed Disney, Transformers, Pokemon, Barbie, and Legos in sales on Amazon over the past 48 hours.

The CEO of Pudgy Penguins indicated yesterday that the project’s approach, which included the recent launch on Amazon, aims to engage major companies and prominent figures from the music or sports sectors to attract millions of individuals who have yet to explore the NFT space.

Pudgy Penguins stands out as one of the few Ethereum-based projects that “defied” the NFT downturn, raising $9 million this year in a funding round led by early-stage investment firm 1kx, with participation from Big Brain Holdings and Kronos Research, among others.

A New York Times article in 2021 significantly boosted the initial release of Pudgy Penguins, and the company’s Twitter proclaimed, “We aren’t waiting for mass adoption… we’re creating it.”
