Mattel Unveils Fast and Furious NFT Series on Flow Platform0

  • The launch aligns with the debut of the eighth installment of the film series.
  • Earlier this month, Mattel introduced a collection of digital collectibles themed around Star Wars.

Mattel, the renowned toy company, is set to unveil the latest edition of its Hot Wheels NFT Garage Series. This release is based on the globally successful film series and is scheduled for May 22, coinciding with the launch of the eighth film in the Fast & Furious franchise.

The Hot Wheels NFT Garage x Fast & Furious collection, which will be hosted on the Flow Blockchain, will showcase vehicles from the films, including Suki’s (Devon Aoki, sister of DJ and NFT entrepreneur Steve Aoki) Honda S2000 from 2 Fast 2 Furious and Dominic Toretto’s 1970 Dodge Charger from Fast & Furious. Each pack of these special edition NFTs will be priced at $20.

NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, are unique cryptographic tokens that can be exchanged for digital or physical items. They serve as proof of ownership, authenticity, or membership in a digital context. Each NFT is a distinct digital collectible, ensuring its individuality and scarcity.

Capitalizing on Popular Trends

Mattel’s latest venture into NFTs is the Fast & Furious release. Similar to the recently launched Boss Beauties x Barbie collection, the Fast & Furious initiative will enable collectors to obtain a die-cast replica of Suki’s car if they complete the entire set.

To commemorate May the 4th, the unofficial Star Wars day, Mattel and OnChain Studios launched a series of Star Wars-themed digital collectibles called Cryptoys earlier this month. The Flow Blockchain hosts several prominent NFT collections, including Mattel’s Fast & Furious NFTs, Dapper Labs’ UFC Strike NFT platform, the NFL’s NFL All-Day, and the NBA’s Top Shot.
