Lost Worlds to Present Interactive NFT Experience at NFT.NYC Event0

Lost Worlds, a location-centric NFT platform, has unveiled LOST.NYC, an engaging event set to occur in New York from April 11–14. This unique event coincides with NFT.NYC, the leading conference for the NFT community.

The concept behind LOST.NYC is to enable NFTs to step beyond their digital confines and establish a presence in the vibrant city. Traditionally, NFTs have been accessible primarily through desktop interfaces, limiting their practical exploration. By utilizing location-based NFT minting, Lost Worlds aims to offer an experience akin to Pokemon-Go for NFTs.

Geofencing NFTs to real-world locations may reveal new and intriguing methods to interact with digital assets. In addition to the experience itself, owners of these assets may gain access to token-gated merchandise, real-life events, exclusive NFT drops, and more. Lost Worlds has partnered with leading figures in the industry for NFT.NYC to showcase the enhanced utility that this technology provides.

STEPN, a lifestyle application, employs geoNFTs from Lost Worlds to create remarkable real-life to online experiences. During NFT.NYC, STEPN will release its geoNFTs, which resemble scavenger hunts, in running locations such as Central Park. Participants on the MOOAR NFT platform can earn a badge and qualify for exclusive STEPN mints.

The creators of DeGods and Y00Ts, DeLabs, are incorporating the Lost Worlds platform into their multi-day DeNYC experience, which features a tour of significant landmarks and a treasure hunt with over $100,000 in rewards available for collection. The geoNFTs quest includes five landmarks for participants to gather throughout the city. A total of 500 mintable geoNFTs will be offered for each location on the Polygon blockchain.

The locations include:

  • Grand Central
  • Empire State Building
  • Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital
  • Central Park
  • Brooklyn Bridge

Twenty-three renowned artists have successfully collaborated with Lost Worlds to launch their inaugural geoNFT collections on the Ethereum blockchain. Esteemed auction houses and venues, such as Sotheby’s, have showcased the works of these artists. Notable names include Derry Ainsworth, Gabe Weis, Cult Class, and emerging talent Anton Conolly. The individual who discovers and mints Anton Conolly’s geoNFT in New York will also receive a 68″ x 50″ physical painting, creating a hybrid experience for collectors and integrating NFTs into the physical realm as a form of certification.

Chikn, an innovative play-to-earn NFT game on the Avalanche AVAX, is the first location-based NFT to feature in-game assets. Chikn offers mystery box geoNFT mints known as “Loot Boks,” a clever twist on the term “loot box,” containing items that can be transferred to and utilized within the chikn.farm game and ecosystem. One such minting event will take place at the farm located atop the Jacob Javits Center, presenting an exciting opportunity for gamers to acquire valuable in-game items in the real world.

Additional geoNFT scavenger hunts will be organized by Lost Worlds throughout NFT.NYC. The reward for successfully collecting geoNFTs from various locations across New York City is a non-tradable NFT Badge that provides access to VIP side events and exclusive geoNFT drops.
