Weekly Inflows into ETH-Linked Investment Vehicles Total $45 Million
Investments in ETH-focused products reached $45.3 million for the week, increasing the cumulative total to $128.6 million since the start of July 2024. The main driver of this increase was the speculation regarding the introduction of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) linked to Ethereum spot prices.
As per the most recent CoinShares report, investment products related to digital assets garnered $3.2 billion over the last three weeks, with $1.35 billion raised in the previous week alone. Besides Bitcoin, investors showed significant interest in ETH-related investment products.
In the past week, the influx of capital into Ethereum-based products totaled $45.3 million. From July 1 to July 21, investment vehicles associated with the asset recorded a total inflow of $128.6 million, greatly surpassing the interest in other altcoin-related crypto products. Analysts at CoinShares attribute this investor engagement to the heightened anticipation surrounding the launch of spot Ethereum ETFs, which commenced trading on U.S. stock exchanges today.
Although there is increasing interest in ETH-based products, Bitcoin continues to draw the largest share of investments. Investors allocated $1.27 billion to BTC-related investment products in the last week, with over $3 billion invested since the beginning of the month. In terms of other altcoins, investment products linked to Solana and Litecoin attracted $9.6 million and $2.2 million, respectively, over the past week.
The most active regions last week included the United States and Switzerland, which experienced inflows into crypto products of $1.3 billion and $66.3 million, respectively. Conversely, Germany, Hong Kong, and Brazil experienced minor outflows of investments amounting to $5.2 million, $1.9 million, and $1.7 million, respectively.
Funding for blockchain startups in 2024 has decreased by 64% compared to the previous year. Notably, approximately one-third of crypto startups established this year are located in Europe, while another third are situated in Asia.
