Visa to Launch Cryptocurrency Card for Affluent Customers
Visa is set to introduce a card tailored for ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals, enabling them to swiftly and securely convert digital assets into fiat currency.
The payment leader Visa is collaborating with dtcpay, a payment service provider based in Singapore, to unveil Visa Infinite, a cryptocurrency card designed for affluent users. This new offering will facilitate the conversion of digital assets into fiat currency.
The Visa Infinite card will provide immediate conversion of stablecoins and various cryptocurrencies into fiat, enhancing access to assets. This initiative seeks to address the increasing demand for cryptocurrency payment solutions among wealthy clients. The card will utilize dtcpay as a provider of real-time, multi-currency exchange capabilities.
Applications for the Visa Infinite cards will commence in the fourth quarter of 2024.
As stated by Adeline Kim, Visa’s Country Manager for Singapore and Brunei, the collaboration with dtcpay will merge digital and traditional payment systems, greatly benefiting local consumers and businesses. She also highlighted that the Asia-Pacific region presents significant opportunities for the adoption of digital financial solutions, and Visa will persist in broadening the array of services available to local cryptocurrency users.
Research indicates that over 90% of Singapore’s high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) are interested in crypto-assets, with Generation X showing the most interest in the region.
