Renowned on-chain domain name provider and digital identity platform Unstoppable Domains has formed a collaboration with Radix, the registry for Top-Level Domains (TLDs), to offer support for .pw domains.
This initiative, as stated in the press release, connects the traditional Domain Name System (DNS) with tokenized blockchain domains.
Specifically, the .pw extension integrates on-chain domains into the mainstream, ensuring full browser compatibility and visibility in search engines.
Radix ranks among the largest registries for new domain extensions globally, featuring ten new extensions, including .online, .store, .tech, .website, .space, .press, .site, .host, .fun, and .uno, along with one repurposed country code top-level domain (ccTLD), .pw.
Additionally, it actively participates in the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) process aimed at expanding the Internet naming system.
The team facilitates users in acquiring “short, memorable, and descriptive domain names that can be utilized for a website, email address, or various other internet addressing purposes.”

This will enable companies, brands, and individuals to fully leverage the advantages of blockchain-based domains.
Importantly, they remain within the existing Internet infrastructure while doing so.

The public wallet .pw extension functions as both a DNS and an on-chain domain, as detailed in the announcement.

Furthermore, .pw domains can be hosted via traditional DNS, unlike non-DNS-enabled on-chain domains.
