Unexplained Activity: Inactive Ethereum ICO Wallet Transfers ETH for the First Time

An unidentified Ethereum address that has been active for more than eight years has recently conducted its inaugural transfer of 185 .

In another notable transaction today, 830 were transferred from an anonymous wallet to Bitstamp.

  • The on-chain tracking service Whale Alert highlighted the ETH ICO participant and their activity on September 7.
  • The wallet, established over eight years ago, prior to the Ethereum Initial Coin Offering, transferred 185 ETH (valued at just over $300,000 at the time of the transaction) to the established US cryptocurrency exchange – Kraken.
  • This transaction contributes to the increasing number of ETH ICO participants reactivating, as another instance occurred several weeks ago. It was reported then that the amount transferred was significantly higher, exceeding $4 million.
  • Additionally, there was another noteworthy ETH transaction in the last 24 hours that deserves mention. An unidentified wallet deposited over 50,000 ETH (valued at over $80 million) into Kraken.
  • Moreover, it wasn’t just ETH holders who were active in the past day. Whale Alert reported on a bitcoin investor who moved 830 BTC (approximately $21 million) to Bitstamp.
