The National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah (RAKBANK) has revealed a collaboration with Bitpanda Technology Solutions to incorporate digital asset management features into its banking application. Residents of the UAE will be able to utilize the enhanced app following approval from the central bank.
Bitpanda Technology Solutions, a prominent provider of crypto infrastructure, has teamed up with the National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah (RAKBANK), a state-owned financial institution in the United Arab Emirates. This partnership is designed to enable access to digital assets for the bank’s clientele.

Through this collaboration, Bitpanda will equip RAKBANK customers with the capability to access a range of digital assets via their current banking app, facilitated by a straightforward API and secure ISO 271001 certified infrastructure. This arrangement allows RAKBANK to deliver advanced investment tools to its customers without the necessity of developing its own cryptocurrency infrastructure.
Dongjun Choi, Group Chief Customer Officer of RAKBANK, stated that the initiative seeks to address a gap in the UAE financial landscape and will offer the bank’s clients a regulated platform for trading digital assets. UAE residents will gain access to this solution only after it receives approval from the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE). Additionally, RAKBANK and Bitpanda plan to introduce tokens for digital payments within the UAE as part of their collaboration.
In the previous year, the authorities in Ras al-Khaimah established a dedicated free economic zone for cryptocurrency enterprises.
