Remote, a provider of global payroll solutions, has introduced a new feature that allows U.S. companies to pay contractors in 69 different countries directly. Payments will be processed using USDC issued on the Base L2 blockchain. Stripe, a prominent payment service provider, serves as the technical partner for this initiative.

This feature facilitates nearly instantaneous cross-border payments while ensuring adherence to both domestic and international regulations, thanks to Remote. As stated in the press release, payments made with enhance the array of tools aimed at automating HR functions.

Job van der Voort, CEO and Co-Founder of Remote, highlighted that this solution addresses one of the primary obstacles companies encounter when recruiting international talent — providing swift, adaptable, and secure global payment options.

“Freelance platforms frequently observe U.S. or European companies hiring freelancers from various parts of the world. With the increasing prevalence of digital nomad lifestyles, these workers require effective methods for receiving payments. In October 2024, Stripe, a frontrunner in online payments, became the inaugural client of Paxos’ new corporate offering. This service enables payment service providers (PSP) and FinTech firms to execute transactions utilizing stablecoins.
