NexBridge has executed the inaugural public offering of tokenized U.S. Treasury bills (T-bills) on Bitcoin’s sidechain, governed by El Salvador’s regulations.

The digital asset issuer NexBridge, which focuses on the tokenization of financial assets, has revealed the launch of the first regulated offering of tokenized U.S. T-bills within the Bitcoin ecosystem. The asset, identified by the ticker USTBL, provides a 5.02% annual yield to maturity.

USTBL tokens will be created on the Liquid Network sidechain utilizing Blockstream AMP asset management technology. Bitfinex Securities will list the asset in accordance with El Salvadoran regulations. The initial offering volume is established at a minimum of $30 million, with purchases permitted in U.S. dollars and . The offering is accessible to qualified investors, excluding those from North America and countries under sanctions.

As stated in the press release, the initiative aims to create standardized guidelines for issuers to promote interoperability and compliance across various exchanges and jurisdictions. Additionally, USTBL intends to enhance access to U.S. Treasury bonds for investors while lowering costs by removing the necessity for conventional intermediaries.
