The hybrid mining pool Parasite, aimed at individual miners, has successfully mined block number 945,601 in the Bitcoin network—marking the second block mined since the project’s launch in spring 2025.

The previous block was discovered 48 days prior. It included 7,398 transactions, with fees totaling 0.002 . At the time of the block’s mining, the price of the leading cryptocurrency was approximately $76,213.

Parasite employs a hybrid reward distribution model. The miner who discovers the block receives one bitcoin, while the remaining 2.125 BTC, along with transaction fees, are allocated among all participants in proportion to their contribution to the hash rate since the last block was mined.

The pool does not charge a participation fee, and payouts are processed via the Lightning Network. The project is designed for individual miners. It was founded by a developer known as ZK Shark, who is also the creator of the NFT collection Ordinal Maxi Biz.

Unlike traditional pools such as CKpool, where the primary reward goes to the miner who finds the block, Parasite combines a lottery-like approach with reward distribution among all participants.

According to pool monitoring data, its average hash rate over the past nine days was around 52 PH/s (approximately 0.005% of the total network hash rate at 1 EH/s). In June 2025, the figure peaked at 182 PH/s.

Previously, CKpool administrator Con Kolivas reported that a solo miner with a hash rate of just 70 TH/s successfully mined a Bitcoin block and received a reward of $222,000.
