Thailand’s Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) apprehended four Chinese citizens and one individual from Laos in relation to a fraudulent cryptocurrency investment scheme that defrauded local investors of over 2.7 billion Baht (approximately $76 million).
As reported by the Bangkok Post, these individuals deceived 3,280 residents by operating a scam disguised as BCH Global Ltd., a counterfeit Bitcoin investment platform. They now face charges for conspiring to commit transnational offenses, engaging in public fraud, and being involved in money laundering activities.
