SOFTSWISS Enhances Security Standards for iGaming Environment
In the initial half of 2024, the SOFTSWISS anti-fraud team enabled the company’s clients to save approximately €6 million. The incidence of fraud within the iGaming ecosystem has been diminished by one-third compared to the previous year, thanks to SOFTSWISS.
The anti-fraud division, which is part of SOFTSWISS Managed Services, enhances the security of the iGaming ecosystem by providing the company’s clients with superior protection of their operational environment. By employing advanced tools and methodologies for effective fraud prevention, the team assisted SOFTSWISS clients in saving around €6 million this year.
During the first six months of 2024, SOFTSWISS’ fraud department managed approximately 54,000 tasks, which included operator inquiries, verification issues, fraud alerts, and responsible gaming violations. Overall, the volume of such requests saw an 8.5% decline compared to the first half of 2023.
Ilya Nesterov, Head of the SOFTSWISS Fraud Team, stated that the predominant forms of fraud in iGaming projects are bonus manipulation and player identity theft. These two categories represented nearly 90% of all cases identified by the team this year. Nesterov also pointed out that the number of inquiries from operators and fraud alerts has significantly decreased, which he believes reflects a more responsible approach from iGaming users.
Conversely, the number of complaints from players submitted to regulators or through industry forums rose by 12.4% year-on-year. In the first half of 2024, 118 such complaints were recorded. Nevertheless, the SOFTSWISS team assisted operators in resolving all disputes — through expert analysis, the company’s clients saved around €250k.
The SOFTSWISS team also announced that they have recently implemented an innovative risk assessment tool that enables them to detect potential issues in real time and take proactive steps to ensure a secure gaming experience.
The SOFTSWISS team received recognition for their commitment to responsible gaming with an award at the SiGMA Africa Awards.
