SocGen’s Cryptocurrency Division Collaborates with Bitpanda to Introduce Stablecoin Offering
French banking leader Societe Generale-FORGE’s cryptocurrency subsidiary SG-FORGE has formed a partnership with Bitpanda to enhance access to its EUR CoinVertible (EURCV) stablecoin.
In a collaborative announcement, the companies indicated that the objective is to promote the adoption of stablecoins throughout Europe by listing EURCV on Bitpanda’s brokerage platform, thereby making it accessible to a broader range of investors.
The stablecoin is entirely backed by Euros issued on the Ethereum public blockchain and adheres to the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulations.
Initiative to Boost Digital Asset Adoption in Europe
SG-FORGE stated that its collaboration with Bitpanda demonstrates a mutual dedication to enhance the utilization of digital assets, especially stablecoins, in Europe.
In December, the French bank introduced its stablecoin, EURCV CoinVertible, on the Luxembourg-based Bitstamp cryptocurrency exchange.
“We are dedicated to providing European users with a stable, secure, and accessible digital asset for trading, settlement, and value storage,” remarked Jean-Marc Stenger, CEO of SG-FORGE, in a statement.
Utilizing Bitpanda’s infrastructure, EURCV will facilitate daily transactions, cross-border payments, and remittances throughout Europe.
Stablecoins offer the benefit of price stability, enabling users to engage in the digital economy without the volatility commonly linked to cryptocurrencies.
