This transaction illustrates a rising trend of institutions opting to engage directly with Ethereum instead of utilizing open markets or OTC desks.

Ethereum Foundation’s ETH Sale Provokes Discussion, Yet Emphasis Remains on Ecosystem Advancement

The Ethereum Foundation has verified its recent ETH sale, indicating that the funds generated will be allocated to support its essential operations. These encompass ongoing protocol research, community grants, and the enhancement of infrastructure vital to the Ethereum ecosystem.

The Foundation, headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, plays a pivotal role in directing and facilitating Ethereum’s development. Its ETH sales are relatively rare and generally intended to generate funds for ongoing network enhancements.

Sharplink’s direct acquisition of ETH from the Foundation—rather than through conventional exchanges or OTC desks—marks a unique and strategic decision. This transaction signifies the company’s alignment with Ethereum’s long-term objectives and its commitment to the network through staking and restaking initiatives.

Joseph Lubin, Chairman of Sharplink and also a co-founder of Ethereum and CEO of Consensys, characterized the decision as more than merely a financial transaction.

“As Ethereum enters a new era of institutional relevance, we are proud to support the network’s long-term strength and decentralization mission,” Lubin stated. “Sharplink is acquiring, staking, and restaking ETH as responsible industry stewards.”

According to Lubin, this signifies the onset of a broader model where mission-aligned organizations directly invest in and support the networks they rely on. The initiative aims to decrease circulating supply and bolster Ethereum’s security and stability.

Earlier today, blockchain data indicated that a suspected Ethereum Foundation address, 0xd779, sold 100 ETH via CoW Protocol. The ETH was initially transferred from a Gnosis Safe and exchanged for 336,475 DAI, which was subsequently sent to a recognized Foundation address, 0x9eE4.

While the Foundation’s sales are generally operational, their timing and frequency have attracted heightened scrutiny.

The Foundation has upheld transparency concerning its treasury management. While some view these sales as detrimental to the market, the declared purpose remains focused on ecosystem sustainability, aimed at supporting long-term development and community funding.

Ethereum Rally Gains Traction as Institutional Flows and Supply Shock Propel $10K Price Target

Ethereum’s overarching market narrative is rapidly aligning with a potential increase in ETH price, with analysts and investors identifying $10,000 as a feasible target.

Ethereum surpassed $3,000 for the first time in five months this week, climbing over 15% in just three days. This surge coincides with Bitcoin’s record-breaking ascent past $118,000, enhancing sentiment across the .

However, Ethereum is not solely benefiting from Bitcoin’s momentum; it is experiencing its own surge driven by a distinctive blend of technical robustness, institutional inflows, and on-chain dynamics.

US spot Ethereum ETFs have recorded five consecutive days of net inflows, amounting to over $623 million. BlackRock’s iShares ETH ETF alone attracted $300.9 million on Thursday, establishing a new single-day record.

Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas noted that this was four times the ETF’s typical volume, indicating strong institutional interest.

Beyond Wall Street, Ethereum’s fundamentals continue to strengthen. On-chain data indicates that ETH balances on exchanges are at their lowest in eight years, currently at just 13.5%. This suggests an impending “supply shock,” as whales accumulate and withdraw ETH into long-term holdings.

Wallets holding over 100,000 ETH have accumulated more than 700,000 ETH since late May, reaching a combined total of 18.8 million. This accumulation corresponds with rising investor confidence, as traders are already anticipating new highs.

One notable account forecasted a breakout past $4,000 this summer, with a potential new all-time high around $5,700. The trajectory to $10,000, they believe, could follow a brief correction after summer.

The $ETH summer roadmap is set:
We are headed back to $4k in short order.
Maybe pause around that level, and then we go for a new ATH which has measured target around $5.7k.
After summer ends, pause for a typical September correction, and then resume the send to $10k.

Another analyst simply stated, “$ETH IS GOING TO $10,000. And there’s nothing you can do about it.”

They called Bitcoin a bubble at $8K.
Now they say $ETH is “boring” at $2.4K.

Technical indicators support this sentiment. Ethereum has surpassed its 200-day and 200-week EMAs, a historically bullish sign. The weekly RSI remains far from overbought, and trend analysts suggest we are entering “Wave 3” of a five-wave cycle, with targets of $4,000–$5,000 in the near term and $10,000 within reach by early 2026.

Whether $10,000 is achieved this year or next, the conviction surrounding ETH’s trajectory is becoming increasingly robust.
