Service Introduced for Purchasing Cryptocurrency via Bank Accounts in the U.S.
Individuals in the U.S. will have the opportunity to acquire cryptocurrencies through bank transfers due to the Transak initiative. The charge for these transfers will be set at 1%.
Transak, a provider of Web3 payment infrastructure, has introduced the first on-ramp service in the U.S. that enables users to fund their cryptocurrency accounts via bank transfers.
As stated by Yeshu Agarwal, Co-Founder of Transak, this initiative marks the first instance in the U.S. where users can buy crypto using familiar and secure payment methods. He anticipates that this initiative will promote widespread adoption of cryptocurrencies and enhance overall trust in the crypto market.
The minimum transfer amount through Transak is $2,000 when utilizing bank accounts. Users will be able to purchase a maximum of $25,000 worth of crypto each day. The fee for these transfers will be 1%. Any Transak user in the USA who has completed verification and KYC checks will have access to this feature.
Transak obtained a federal license for conducting money transfers in the U.S. in early 2022. The new functionality for U.S. users was made possible through a collaboration with a prominent local bank. The identity of the partner bank has not been revealed, but the company emphasized that this collaboration ensures full compliance with local regulatory standards.
Earlier this year, Transak formed a strategic alliance with payment leader Visa, allowing users from over 145 countries to convert approximately 40 cryptocurrencies into fiat by withdrawing funds to a bank card. The option to purchase cryptocurrencies using bank accounts was also previously introduced for U.K. users, leading to a fourfold increase in transaction volume on the platform. The company aims to achieve similar growth in the U.S.
In 2023, Transak broadened the capability to use fiat funds in Web3 games, providing users with access to straightforward and cost-effective transactions involving in-game tokens.
