SBF Polymarket Odds Increased Following Trump’s Pardon of CZ – But Will the Trend Continue?
Sam Bankman-Fried’s (SBF) chances of receiving a pardon from U.S. President Donald Trump increased among Polymarket bettors on Thursday, following the announcement that Trump had granted clemency to Binance founder Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao, as indicated by a poll on the decentralized prediction market.
SBF Experiences Surge in Pardon Odds on Polymarket
The poll titled “Who will Trump pardon in 2025” revealed that Bankman-Fried’s likelihood of being pardoned climbed by over 6% within a 24-hour period.
On Thursday morning, Bankman-Fried’s pardon odds remained at 6%. However, by Thursday evening, they had risen to 12.5%.
By Friday afternoon, Bankman-Fried’s chances of receiving a pardon were around 9.7%.
FTX Founder Engages on Social Media During Appeal
This poll update comes nearly two years after the former FTX CEO was convicted on criminal charges related to his tenure at the now-defunct crypto exchange.
The former “king of crypto” received a 25-year sentence in federal prison for orchestrating a significant digital asset fraud that resulted in $8 billion being lost by FTX investors.
Several former colleagues of Bankman-Fried testified against him, including FTX chief technical officer Gary Wang, the platform’s former head of engineering Nishad Singh, and former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison.
Earlier this month, the disgraced FTX founder took to social media to claim that “Biden’s anti-crypto SEC/DOJ targeted me” and arrested him in 2022 to prevent his testimony on Capitol Hill the following day.

“They had me arrested weeks before the crypto bill I was working on was scheduled for a vote—and the night before I was set to testify before Congress,” a message on Bankman-Fried’s official Gettr account states.
Bankman-Fried is currently appealing his November 2023 conviction and is anticipated to return to court on November 3 in New York City.
