President Bukele Achieves Record Approval Rating After Four Years in Office (Poll)
A recent study by TResearch indicated that approximately 93% of Salvadorans support the leadership of President Nayib Bukele. This marks the highest approval rating for the political figure since he assumed office in 2019.
Bukele is a prominent personality within the cryptocurrency sector, primarily due to his favorable position on Bitcoin. During his administration, El Salvador became the inaugural nation to recognize the leading digital currency as legal tender.
Salvadorans Express Approval for Bukele
The findings reveal that only 5.3% of respondents are dissatisfied with Bukele’s administration, while 92.3% endorse its policies and actions. Among the notable accomplishments of the President’s cabinet are managing the COVID-19 crisis, constructing new roads and enhancing highway infrastructure, and enacting reforms in the education sector.
In broader society, Bukele is recognized as the individual who took a stand against local criminal organizations and welcomed Bitcoin into the country.
In 2021, El Salvador became the first nation to designate BTC as legal tender within its territory. Bukele’s administration continued to advance this initiative by launching various projects involving the asset in subsequent years.

The government acquired BTC on a macroeconomic scale and utilized the gains to establish a large veterinary hospital. Additionally, it announced plans to develop a futuristic “Bitcoin City” in the southeastern region of the Latin American country.
Predictably, the upcoming city will utilize BTC as its currency, and its layout will be designed to resemble the logo of the digital asset when viewed from above.
Bukele recently stated that the adoption of Bitcoin has nearly doubled El Salvador’s tourism, solidified its legacy, and enhanced the nation’s appeal to investors and entrepreneurs.
Will the Leader Seek a Second Term?
Notwithstanding the constitutional restriction in El Salvador that prevents Presidents from serving consecutive terms, Bukele has announced his intention to run in the 2024 elections.
“I’m announcing to the Salvadoran people that I’ve decided to run as a candidate for President of the Republic,” the 41-year-old declared in September.
Nonetheless, it appears that this contentious choice will not provoke significant opposition among the populace, as 93% would prefer him to continue as their leader following the election next year. Meanwhile, 6.8% would prefer to see a different individual in the presidential role.
