Austrian FinTech firm Bitpanda is introducing a trading platform designed for institutional use. This platform facilitates a diverse array of transactions involving cryptocurrencies and other assets.

Bitpanda, recognized as Europe’s premier crypto broker, has unveiled Bitpanda Wealth, a tailored trading platform aimed at family offices, external asset managers, corporate treasuries, and high-net-worth individuals (HNWI).

The platform provides various access options to digital assets, including trading activities and a comprehensive suite of OTC and brokerage services. It employs a proprietary custody solution referred to as Bitpanda Custody for asset storage. Additionally, it utilizes TrustVault wallet technology to merge the rapid processing of hot wallet transactions with the security of cold wallets.

As stated in the press release, Bitpanda Wealth is constructed on the same infrastructure that several prominent European banks rely on. This includes Raiffeisen Bank, which intends to enable crypto transaction access for retail customers through Bitpanda by early 2024.

Bitpanda Wealth extends beyond just crypto transactions. It grants users access to exchange-traded funds, commodities, stocks, various assets, and leveraged products. The platform also offers investment management and reporting services.

Bitpanda collaborates with European regulatory bodies and holds licenses to provide crypto services in Norway, Austria, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, and Sweden. Bitpanda Custody is authorized by the U.K.’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). According to the company’s website, it possesses over 15 licenses for digital asset services within the EU.

The trend of establishing platforms is gaining momentum. Last summer, DZ Bank, Germany’s third-largest financial conglomerate, announced the launch of a DLT platform for institutional clients to manage digital asset transactions. In November, Israel’s Fireblocks introduced the Off Exchange trading system, enabling institutional traders and asset managers to trade on CEXs while reducing counterparty risk. In early 2024, the Libre protocol was launched, allowing institutional investors to engage with real-world assets (RWA) tokenized through Polygon’s .
