Morgan Stanley Introduces Immediate Currency Transfers for Business Clients

Financial conglomerate Morgan Stanley has collaborated with Wise to facilitate immediate international currency transactions for its corporate and institutional clientele.

Morgan Stanley, the second-largest commercial multinational firm in the U.S., revealed the integration of the Wise Platform, a system designed for international money transfers with direct currency conversion. This collaboration will enable Morgan Stanley’s prominent clients to perform instant cross-border currency transactions, as stated by representatives from Wise.

Wise is a global payments provider that collaborates with top banks, financial institutions, and enterprises around the globe. The company possesses over 65 licenses for payment services and maintains six direct connections to payment systems, allowing 63% of cross-border payments to be processed in less than 20 seconds.

The press release indicated that this new service will enhance Morgan Stanley’s current range of currency exchange transactional offerings tailored for corporate and institutional clients. Importantly, Morgan Stanley is the first systemically significant financial institution to adopt corporate payments through the Wise Platform.

Steve Naudé, Managing Director of Wise Platform, remarked that the company supports the transition of major traditional financial service providers towards innovative FinTech solutions. These solutions deliver quicker, more economical, and transparent cross-border payments for the corporate sector compared to traditional financial infrastructure.

The availability of entirely FinTech-driven solutions for corporate-level international operations is progressively increasing. In 2024, Ripple announced the introduction of a Web3-based corporate solution for supply chain financing, aimed at institutional clients in Japan.
