Over the past three years, Helio asserts it has handled more than $1.5 billion in transactions, facilitating payments for notable projects such as Magic Eden NFT pre-sales and Solana mobile phone sales.
The platform also connects with widely utilized services like Shopify, WooCommerce, and Discord, providing merchants with seamless on-chain checkout solutions.
Helio Technology To Be Integrated Into MoonPay System
In a statement shared with CryptoNews, MoonPay indicated its intention to incorporate Helio’s technology into its system, enhancing its product offerings for marketplaces, trading platforms, and decentralized applications.
Ivan Soto-Wright, CEO and co-founder of MoonPay, mentioned that the acquisition represents a significant advancement, stating: “Helio’s technology and expertise bolster our ability to deliver efficient, secure, and scalable solutions for crypto commerce and marketplaces. With this collaboration, we now provide the most comprehensive product for on-chain payments.”
“Joining MoonPay accelerates our goal to replace slow, expensive merchant payments with fast, affordable, and decentralized solutions, enabling thousands of merchants to connect with millions of consumers,” remarked Helio co-founder and CEO Stijn Paumen.
Earlier this year, MoonPay formed a partnership with PayPal, allowing users to buy and sell over 110 cryptocurrencies using their PayPal accounts. MoonPay also integrated with Venmo, the U.S. peer-to-peer payment application, becoming the first crypto company to offer Venmo funding for crypto transactions.
Recently, MoonPay received approval under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, broadening its presence within the European Economic Area.
