Former MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor Discusses Bitcoin Surge

“I’m organizing the $100,000 party,” Saylor informed CNBC. “I’m considering it will likely be on New Year’s Eve at my residence, so I would be surprised if we don’t surpass $100,000 in November or December.”

The founder of the software company further asserted that the election of Republican candidate Donald Trump is “extremely favorable for Bitcoin” and remarked that he does not perceive “any imminent threats on the horizon” for the cryptocurrency.

“I don’t believe it’s going to $60,000, I don’t believe it’s going to $30,000, I think it is going to rise from here,” Saylor stated.

The MIT graduate, who notably expanded MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin acquisitions starting in 2020, has been recognized for his foresight regarding the cryptocurrency created by Satoshi Nakamoto.

Recently, the company surpassed the S&P 500 index, with its current Bitcoin assets valued at nearly $25 billion.

Donald Trump’s Influence on Bitcoin

The cryptocurrency has experienced significant value growth since Trump triumphed over Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in the U.S. 2024 presidential election earlier this month.

On Wednesday, Bitcoin set a new record high by soaring past $93,000, although it had since dropped to $89,000 as of Friday afternoon.

Trump, who recently introduced his family’s crypto platform World Liberty Financial, has expressed strong support for Bitcoin and other digital currencies during his campaign, pledging to implement a crypto-friendly regulatory environment upon his return to the Oval Office.

“We will have regulations,” Trump remarked at the Bitcoin 2024 Conference, adding, “but from now on, the rules will be established by those who support your industry, not oppose it.”

The former reality television star indicated that he was “not a fan of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies” due to their value being “highly volatile and based on thin air.”

“Unregulated Crypto Assets can facilitate unlawful behavior, including drug trade and other illegal activity…,” he stated in a 2019 X post.

However, his position has since changed considerably.

Just weeks ago, the now President-elect extended his wishes to Bitcoiners on the 16th anniversary of the token’s pseudonymous creator’s white paper in an X post on October 31.

With Bitcoin’s price projected to continue rising, it remains uncertain how high it may ultimately reach.
