Mercuryo, a prominent provider of cryptocurrency payment solutions, has revealed the launch of Spend, a Mastercard crypto debit card that facilitates the use of digital currencies for everyday purchases in the EEA.

Spend addresses the challenge of converting cryptocurrency into fiat currency for the purchase of goods and services. Users of the crypto card will have the ability to spend digital assets directly from their crypto wallets. Additionally, cardholders can choose to link their crypto cards with Apple Pay and Google Pay.

This new debit card is designed for non-custodial crypto wallets, meaning that users will manage their private key storage. Spend supports various blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, Polkadot, TON, Near, ZKsync, Injective, and others. To register for the card, a fee of €1.60 is required for issuance, along with a monthly maintenance fee of €1. Mercuryo charges a 0.95% fee for converting assets to fiat. Users can replenish their card balance by selling cryptocurrency, with the funds becoming available for immediate use.

The Spend card is exclusively available in the European Economic Area (EEA), as Mercuryo holds a license to function as a crypto-asset service provider in this area. Plans are in place to extend the availability of the product to additional regions in the future.

Previously, crypto debit cards on the Mastercard payment network have been issued by company 1inch Network, cryptocurrency exchange Binance, leading MetaMask, and various commercial banks in Uzbekistan.
