Ledger Begins Security Season with Strong Bitcoin Rewards
Ledger has initiated “Security Season,” a two-week initiative providing Bitcoin bonuses for purchasers of its hardware wallets.
This promotion is active until April 7 and aims to combat the surge of 2026 drainer scams by encouraging users to adopt devices with certified screens. By effectively subsidizing the price of its hardware with up to $80 in a “Bitcoin Boost,” Ledger seeks to transfer at-risk digital assets from internet-connected software wallets to offline, hardware-secured environments.
Ledger produces the hardware that safeguards a substantial portion of the globe’s digital assets. The company creates physical devices that keep private keys isolated from the internet, utilizing the same Secure Element chips found in biometric passports. In contrast, software wallets store keys on devices that are inherently vulnerable due to their constant online connectivity. Ledger devices ensure those keys remain offline.
When a user conducts a transaction, the hardware internally signs the transaction and only transmits the cryptographic proof. The private keys never exit the device.
The payout varies according to the hardware tier. Buyers of the Ledger Stax, the high-end device featuring a curved E-Ink display, receive $80 in Bitcoin. The Ledger Flex includes a $70 Bitcoin bonus.
The newly launched Ledger Nano Gen5 comes with $40 in Bitcoin. The Gen5 has replaced the older two-button interface with a 2.8-inch touchscreen, significantly simplifying transaction verification. Legacy button-based models also receive subsidies. The Bluetooth-enabled Ledger Nano X offers $20 in Bitcoin. The more basic Ledger Nano S Plus includes a $10 bonus.
The bonuses can be enhanced, as users who enroll in Ledger Recover, the encrypted backup solution, receive an additional $10 in Bitcoin. Adding a Cryptotag Zeus to the cart provides another $20 in Bitcoin.

The Cryptotag Zeus is a robust titanium plate designed to physically engrave a secret recovery phrase, safeguarding the ultimate backup from fire, water, and physical deterioration. A user purchasing a Ledger Stax with both add-ons can obtain a total of $110 in Bitcoin from the promotion.

Ledger’s campaign addresses a specific vulnerability: blind signing. Drainer scams take advantage of the lack of transparency in software wallets. Users frequently engage with decentralized finance protocols and NFT marketplaces by clicking “approve” on their devices or browser extensions, often without seeing the actual smart contract data.
Malicious actors can exploit this behavior by masquerading wallet-draining contracts as standard approvals or airdrop claims. Once the user authorizes the transaction, the software wallet executes the command and depletes the account.
Ledger’s certified screens mitigate this attack vector. Prior to executing a transaction, the Ledger device displays the precise details of the smart contract on its secure screen. This process, referred to as clear signing, counters the misleading user interfaces of harmful websites. Users can see exactly what they are signing, who they are sending it to, and what permissions they are granting.
If the screen indicates a transfer of your entire balance to an unfamiliar address, you can reject the prompt on the device. While drainer scams depend on speed and obfuscation, Ledger devices compel users to pause and read.
Ledger directs the Bitcoin bonuses straight into the Ledger Wallet App, the software interface that connects with the hardware. Once the complimentary Bitcoin is received, users can manage it immediately without exposing their keys to a centralized exchange. The Ledger Wallet App enables users to stake their assets, swap between various cryptocurrencies, and track real-time market prices from a single dashboard.
An additional benefit of the free Bitcoin is that it provides new users with immediate capital to explore Ledger’s staking and swapping features, demonstrating that self-custody does not equate to sacrificing convenience.
The campaign concludes on April 7, so act swiftly if you wish to participate in this generous offer.
