Both individuals sending invitations and those receiving them will earn 200 yen (approximately $0.12) in Bitcoin for each person they invite.

The company indicated that there is “no limit to the number of individuals” users can invite. Additionally, individuals can also obtain 200 yen worth of Bitcoin by entering a special signup code.

The firm released an advertisement to promote the introduction of its BTC services, featuring prominent figures such as former professional wrestler Riki Choshu and actress and singer Haruka Shimazaki.

Mercari is a relatively recent entrant to the Japanese cryptocurrency exchange market. However, it has experienced remarkable success since venturing into BTC and crypto.

Its cryptocurrency trading service “boasts the highest number of new cryptocurrency users in the industry,” according to Japan’s CoinPost, “with over 2.2 million users as of May 30.”

Data gathered by the Japan Virtual and Cryptoassets Exchange Association indicates that 61.5% of all new crypto wallets created from the end of March 2023 to the end of March 2024 were established on the Mercari platform.

Mercari introduced its Bitcoin trading service features in March 2023. This year, the company has aimed to integrate these features with its primary “online flea market” operations.

In February, the firm launched a feature enabling customers to utilize their Bitcoin holdings to purchase items on the Mercari platform.

Merchants can also take advantage of a feature that permits them to receive ETH instead of fiat currency when finalizing a sale.

Mercoin stated that the “reason behind” the significant “increase” in new crypto wallets was “the expansion of a customer base that has not previously been exposed to cryptocurrencies.” Mercoin added:
