In 2025, Japan is set to introduce its inaugural cryptocurrency credit card that will be fully compliant with the nation’s regulations regarding crypto and payments.
Slash Vision Labs has revealed plans for the Slash Card, marking Japan’s first crypto credit card. This initiative will be carried out in collaboration with a domestic credit card issuer, although specific details have yet to be disclosed. While the precise launch date remains unconfirmed, the company has affirmed its intention to roll out the card in 2025.
As stated in the press release, Slash Vision Labs has been working on Slash Payment, a comprehensive crypto payment ecosystem in Japan, since 2022. The company has formed partnerships with SoftBank Payment, LifeCard, and Solana’s Superteam Japan. At present, over 4,000 merchants utilize Slash Payment services, handling transactions exceeding $180 million. The official website indicates that the platform accommodates 10 blockchains and enables merchants to accept nearly any cryptocurrency.
