DeFi protocol Lido Finance has introduced an institutional-grade solution for Ethereum liquid staking, broadening investment avenues for corporate entities.
The Lido Finance team revealed the launch of Lido Institutional, an ETH staking solution tailored for custodians, asset managers, crypto exchanges, and other institutional organizations. Users can expect enterprise-level reliability and security, along with adequate liquidity to execute various investment strategies.
Lido Institutional is designed for current clients of Lido Finance, the leading liquid staking protocol. At present, over 28.5% of all ETH tokens are staked through the Lido protocol, a figure that has recently surpassed 32%.

The introduction of institutional-grade services was initially reported in February 2024, when Lido partnered with Taurus, a firm that focuses on delivering enterprise-level infrastructure for digital asset transactions. The partnership aimed to address the needs of banking and corporate clients for stETH token storage and transactions.
Additionally, a collaboration between Lido and crypto custodian Fireblocks was announced, which also sought to offer institutional clients services related to ETH staking.
This progression appears logical, considering that liquid staking protocols represented the largest segment in the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector at the conclusion of H2 2023.
