In Zabaykalsky Krai, organizers of the investment scheme “Kryptonik” have been apprehended., 2026/04/21 10:44:24

A group has been identified in Zabaykalsky Krai that attracted funds from citizens under the guise of cryptocurrency investments through the project “Krypton.” The damage is estimated to be around 60 million rubles, according to the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
According to the investigation, since 2023, participants in the scheme offered investments in cryptocurrency with promises of high returns and guaranteed payouts. Initially, some clients received interest payments, which helped draw in new participants.
Subsequently, the payouts ceased, prompting the victims to contact law enforcement. A total of 26 victims have been identified.
A criminal case has been initiated against a 32-year-old alleged organizer and three participants under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud on a particularly large scale”). Two suspects were detained in Chita, while another two were apprehended in Irkutsk, after which they were transported to Zabaykalsky Krai.
During searches, computer equipment, removable storage devices, and promotional materials used to attract clients were seized. The court has imposed preventive measures: three suspects have been remanded in custody, and one participant has been placed under house arrest.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Komi Republic reported that a resident of Pechora lost over 3.5 million rubles while attempting to profit from cryptocurrency investments.
