Hyperliquid Resists the Cryptocurrency Decline – Could HYPE Surpass Solana?
Major cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and Sui (SUI) have experienced significant declines from their recent peaks; however, Hyperliquid (HYPE) continues to resist the downward trend in the crypto market as its ecosystem undergoes rapid development.
Hyperliquid was last trading at approximately $26 per coin, reflecting an increase of nearly 9x since its launch in late November.
During the same timeframe, ETH has decreased by about 25%, while Solana has fallen by around 20%.
HYPE serves as the native token for HyperEVM, the innovative layer-1 blockchain that currently supports the Hyperliquid trading protocol.
While some observers are surprised by HYPE’s strength in the face of broader market challenges, this should not be unexpected.

Since the introduction of its layer-1 blockchain, Hyperliquid has experienced a notable increase in adoption and usage. According to Messari, Hyperliquid’s trading volumes have expanded by more than 4x.

HYPE also marked the largest crypto airdrop in history and has received considerable acclaim for its community-focused (rather than venture capital) allocation.
One analyst on X highlighted that HYPE allocates 69.9% to the community, compared to an average of 36.1% for other networks.

A community-first allocation has likely played a direct role in Hyperliquid’s grassroots adoption, and its growth outlook appears promising moving forward.
What’s Next for Hyperliquid?
As HYPE climbs higher to test its late-January peaks, traders are speculating on the potential future direction of the cryptocurrency.
HYPE continues to trade above key short-term moving averages and is in a slight upward trend.
Macro factors (such as this week’s strong US inflation data) continue to keep the broader market in check, but the Hyperliquid price may soon test $28 and attempt a renewed push towards record highs above $35.

However, its next major surge may need to wait until overall altcoin market conditions improve.
Tight US financial conditions (with US 10-year yields remaining elevated around 4.5%) suggest that a significant surge similar to those of 2017 or 2021 is unlikely this year.
Nonetheless, aside from financial conditions, several bullish developments are occurring in the crypto space as the Trump administration implements its pro-crypto policies.
A strategic reserve for bitcoin could be on the horizon, along with a range of pro-crypto regulations that could inject substantial liquidity and demand into the market.
As an already established leader, the Hyperliquid price may be poised for a significant increase.
Its fully diluted valuation of just under $26 billion indicates ample room for further growth in the coming years, even if 2025 proves to be somewhat challenging.
Could Hyperliquid Surpass Solana?
Recent price outperformance has led some analysts to ponder whether HYPE might eventually surpass Solana.
After all, Solana’s primary use case has been for (meme coin) trading, while Hyperliquid is arguably a superior trading platform.
However, despite HYPE’s promising growth due to its innovative approach to blockchain technology and community engagement, it still lacks the established developer ecosystem and institutional support that Solana possesses.
Furthermore, while HYPE may attract significant market interest, Solana’s advantages in transaction speed, lower costs, and existing network effects present a substantial barrier for HYPE to overcome in terms of market dominance.
Best Wallet – A Better Alternative to Consider?
Hyperliquid has considerable upside potential in the years ahead, but for those seeking even quicker gains, an exciting new project called Best Wallet (BEST) may represent an even better opportunity.
With over $9 million already raised in just a few months, Best Wallet’s presale is off to a strong start.
This robust momentum is not surprising given that Best Wallet’s non-custodial wallet has already attracted over 250,000 users.
250K+ traders are securing their advantage with Best Wallet.

Best Wallet is a non-custodial, multi-chain wallet that distinguishes itself with its no-KYC policy and integrated features such as in-wallet swaps and access to exclusive presales.
Its current growth rate positions the wallet to capture over 40% of the $11 billion non-custodial wallet market by 2026.
Just as strong grassroots adoption propelled 10x gains for HYPE in recent months, the BEST token launch could achieve similar success.
