Hamster Kombat’s Prospects Uncertain Amid Reports of Internal Disputes

The popular Telegram-based game Hamster Kombat is facing an uncertain future as internal disputes and conflicts with investors threaten to hinder its advancement.

Recent reports have highlighted tensions within the project, which could affect the eagerly awaited HMSTR token airdrop and the overall development trajectory.

Background of Hamster Kombat’s Internal Conflict

The controversy emerged on August 16 when local media outlet Lenta.ru reported on internal strife within the Hamster Kombat team, focusing on a disagreement with investor AD.RU.

The article, which was subsequently removed, claimed that the game’s developers refused to share profits with AD.RU, despite the investor’s substantial contributions to financing and developing essential mechanics for the project.

Anton Gorshkov, CEO of AD.RU, asserts that his company played a vital role in the game’s creation.

According to Gorshkov, AD.RU initially invested $600,000 in a partnership proposed by Eduard Gurinovich in 2020 for a mobile gaming and esports platform named Arenum. Gurinovich, a Russian IT entrepreneur, is reportedly recognized as one of the key figures behind Hamster Kombat.

This investment provided AD.RU with an 18.6% ownership stake, which later grew to 25% after the company’s marketing initiatives attracted over $1 million in additional funding.

However, Gurinovich denied AD.RU’s assertions in June 2024, claiming that the company had no involvement in the development of Hamster Kombat.

In response, AD.RU submitted a technical report indicating that Hamster Kombat’s servers are hosted on the same infrastructure as Arenum.

The domain “hamsterkombat.io” was also registered using the corporate email [email protected], linked to Arenum’s co-founder Alexander Pasechnik.

Gorshkov has reportedly filed a pre-trial claim against Gurinovich, suggesting that legal challenges may lie ahead for the Hamster Kombat project.

Hamster Kombat’s difficulties intensified in August when marketing director Nikita Anufriev departed from the project.

Anufriev alleged that he was promised 25% of the company’s revenue or equity, which never came to fruition.

He claims to have played a significant role in promoting the game internationally and establishing strategic partnerships, including a $450,000 investment.

Anufriev indicated that rather than distributing profits, the team opted to return funds to early investors, leading to discontent among influencers and participants who believe their contributions to the game’s success have been overlooked.

Implications of the Conflict for Airdrop Farmers and HMSTR Token Launch

These internal disputes could have considerable repercussions for Hamster Kombat players and the project’s future.

The HMSTR token airdrop, initially planned for late July to distribute 60% of its airdrop tokens to dedicated players, has been postponed indefinitely. The team cited technical challenges with the TON blockchain and potential network congestion as reasons for the delay.

Dear CEOs,
We’ve received numerous comments regarding the new Playground section, and we wish to address them.
First and foremost: Participation in various activities will influence the amount of tokens received in the upcoming airdrop, not the distribution itself – all…

Legal and financial disputes may compel the team to shift focus away from project growth and development.

Furthermore, ongoing disagreements could disrupt funding, potentially resulting in server stability issues or even temporary outages.

The postponement of the HMSTR airdrop has sparked disappointment and skepticism within the Hamster Kombat community.

Players have voiced frustration over the absence of a specific date for the airdrop distribution, particularly as the team continues to roll out new gaming activities.
