Hackers hacked Milwaukee airport account to publish crypto content, 2026/01/19 09:28:56

Hackers hacked the official X-account of the General Mitchell International Airport near Milwaukee and began publishing crypto content there. Many of the materials on the hacked page were reposts from the @Bitcoin account.
The scammers changed the name of the verified airport page to TheHodaLaw, placing the logo of the real law firm Hoda Law Firm on the profile picture and placing a link to its website. The attackers posted a message warning about crypto fraud and promised to help victims get their funds back.
Airport public relations director Harold Mester reported the incident to local media. Technicians are investigating the situation to contact law enforcement if necessary.
The owner of the Texas law firm Hoda Law, Marshal Hoda, whose name appeared on the hacked account, said the company was not involved in the hack. He suggested that these could be scammers trying to profit from the reputation of his company.
Hoda Law specializes in recovering funds for people victimized by cryptocurrency scams, and the firm has repeatedly filed lawsuits on behalf of victims against foreign hackers. Hoda came to the conclusion that it was they who could take revenge on the company in this way.
Often, attackers hack into the accounts of famous personalities to promote fraudulent tokens. In December, an attack was carried out on the account of the co-founder of the largest crypto exchange Binance, Yi He, in the Chinese WeChat messenger. Hackers made about $55,000 in a pump-and-dump scheme involving the Mubarakah token.
