French Adolescents Engaging in Cryptocurrency Investments – Report
A report has indicated that teenagers in France are more inclined to invest in cryptocurrency compared to older individuals in the nation.
According to Franceinfo, 15% of French citizens aged 18-24 have already ventured into the world of crypto.
This figure significantly surpasses the national average, as the outlet noted that approximately 9% of the overall French population is believed to have purchased cryptocurrency at some point in their lives.
French Teenagers: Are Those Under 18 Also Engaging in Crypto?
The media source mentioned that “although” crypto platforms are “prohibited for minors” in France, cryptocurrencies “are gaining increasing popularity among adolescents and young adults.”
However, this “doesn’t prevent some teenagers” from “initiating” their involvement in crypto trading, the outlet clarified.
An unnamed “17-year-old high school student” stated that he was “very discreet” when it came to trading cryptocurrencies.
The outlet also cited a young man named Mathias Vallet, who claimed he “began” trading crypto “at 19.”
Vallet expressed that the “excitement” and the potential for significant profits motivated him to explore the crypto market multiple times.

Vallet elaborated that his earnings from the markets had assisted him in “financing” his university “studies,” and remarked:
“Whenever we observe rising price movements, there is a surge of adrenaline. Yet, we always strive to minimize emotional responses. Our goal is to make rational decisions to enhance the value of our assets.”
Scammers Also Capitalizing on Crypto Trends?
Moreover, French teenagers are not the only demographic in the country engaging with cryptocurrency. Scammers also seem eager to exploit the increasing interest in crypto as BTC prices rise.
On March 7, the national broadcaster TF1 reported that “several hundred individuals” had lodged complaints in Paris against the operators of a now-defunct cryptoasset investment platform called OmegaPro.
On X (Twitter), TV presenter Élise Lucet distanced herself from various crypto scams that misused her likeness.
She stated that she had “nothing to do with” a series of “false press articles” created to “promote cryptocurrency platforms.”
The presenter shared a collection of screenshots of fake Le Monde news articles about her that had been circulated on social media platforms.

Most of these articles featured fabricated interviews with the star, in which she “disclosed” the “secrets of her wealth.” Lucet commented:
“Beware of scams! A coordinated campaign of malicious posts is using my image to convey complete falsities. Some of them link to fraudulent sites that promote cryptocurrency sites. Obviously, I have nothing to do with these.”
