QANplatform has declared the successful launch of QAN TestNet, a pioneering quantum-resistant EVM-compatible blockchain. This network acts as a precursor to the QAN MainNet beta, with the specific launch date still to be determined.

QAN TestNet operates on the QAN Virtual Machine (QVM) and facilitates the creation of smart contracts in multiple programming languages that are compatible with the Linux kernel. The press release emphasizes that this architecture could potentially attract over 28 million new developers by utilizing a diverse array of programming languages.

To guarantee the security of post-quantum transactions, the initiative employs the CRYSTALS-Dilithium post-quantum cryptography algorithm along with the QAN XLINK cross-signature protocol. These innovations allow for the development of post-quantum-resistant smart contracts that are compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Consequently, EVM-compatible protocols can evaluate the migration process to a quantum-resistant platform without jeopardizing the user funds held on their mainnets.

Vitalik Buterin has recently addressed potential scenarios in which attackers might exploit quantum computers to compromise smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain and proposed possible solutions.
