Amir Taaki, a prominent Bitcoin developer, announced the creation of this unprecedented fully anonymous decentralized autonomous organization, developed in partnership with DarkFi, a provider of privacy-focused tools for online entities. He highlighted that the DAO’s design is intended to enable its members to maintain total privacy – cryptocoinbox.com.

Taaki stated that the DAO’s features allow for the concealment of:

  • payment amounts by associating them with one another;
  • details about members and the quantity of tokens they possess;
  • the originators of proposals;
  • the total votes cast for a proposal;
  • any details regarding the treasury.

The developer pointed out that all operations of the DAO on the network appear as random data, making it impossible to identify and associate them with any organization. According to Taaki, the DAO’s entirely anonymous governance framework will prevent the uneven distribution of governance tokens, which frequently results in the concentration of power among a few large holders.

The high degree of anonymity, he contended, is essential for safeguarding the freedom of users and for resisting oppressive regimes. Taaki also remarked that DAOs were initially envisioned as the future of online organizations, but their progress has been hindered.

The crypto community has reacted variably to the developer’s proposal. Some crypto advocates referred to the concept of establishing entirely anonymous DAOs as a classic cypherpunk theory, noting its impracticality. Nevertheless, even they acknowledged that this method could elevate decentralized autonomous organizations to a new stage of evolution.
