Ducati Collaborates with XRP Ledger, Established by Ripple, for Initial NFT Collection
The Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has collaborated with XRP Ledger to venture into the Web3 domain. The primary objective is to unveil its inaugural digital collectible, which features a video montage of all the Ducati logos that have graced the tanks of motorcycles produced in Borgo Panigale from 1946 to the present.
The initial release serves as a token of appreciation for Ducati enthusiasts as the company transitions into the Web3 arena and is set to be launched on Wednesday, July 26. Participants must register within seven days of the launch date. Following the conventional approach to NFT releases, Ducati revealed that those who acquire the first collectible will gain access to future projects.
Ducati’s Web3 Initiative
As stated in the blog post, forthcoming projects from the motorcycle manufacturing leader will be implemented using Ripple, which is responsible for offering technical assistance on the efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly XRP Ledger (XRPL) blockchain.
Ducati intends to create a variety of Web3 initiatives over the coming months through the establishment of new digital aggregation platforms, NFT collections, and additional opportunities. The company indicated that this initiative signifies the “natural progression of its digital strategy.”
For this project, Ducati has also partnered with Web3 Pro, which previously collaborated with its parent company, Lamborghini, for brand engagement on an NFT collection titled “The Epic Road Trip.”

In response to the recent development, Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali remarked,
“Entering WEB 3.0 is another way to get closer to the Ducatisti community by further extending the number of services offered to them. It also represents an opportunity to meet and make ourselves known to a new community of NFT enthusiasts, giving them the opportunity to live unique Ducati-style experiences and collect the digital assets that we will develop exclusively for this new dimension of the brand.”
XRPL Expansion
This development follows more than a year since the Bologna-based motorcycle manufacturer revealed its intentions to engage with the sector and, notably, comes in the wake of Ripple’s partial victory against the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
In the first quarter, the San Francisco-based blockchain firm reported that on-chain activity on XRPL remained robust, with transactions increasing by 9% to 116 million, compared to 106 million in the previous quarter. It further noted that “NFTs continue to drive activity,” with over a million assets minted on the Ledger since XLS-20 was activated on the mainnet.
