DogWifHat Price Review as $WIF Rises 31% – Is $2 the Next Target?

Solana’s leading doge-themed cryptocurrency, DogWifHat ($WIF), experienced a 31% increase in its price last Friday, trading at $2.35 per token as of this moment.

It is closely followed by Bonk ($BONK), another meme coin on Solana, which surged 33% to trade at $0.00002407 at the time of this report.

However, in the last 24 hours, Bonk significantly outperformed DogWifHat.

$WIF increased by 6% and was the only token among the seven largest meme coins by market capitalization that did not achieve double-digit percentage gains, while Bonk rose 16% overnight.

Moo Deng ($MOODENG), a Solana meme coin that is less than three weeks old and inspired by a viral baby pygmy hippo from Thailand, has skyrocketed by an astonishing 1336% over the past week.

Meme coins on Solana collectively gained 17.6% overnight, reaching a market capitalization of $8.99 billion, according to data from CoinGecko.

This aligns with the broader meme coin rally today, which has added an impressive 22.1% to the current $57.6 billion meme coin market.

In contrast, the global cryptocurrency market has remained relatively stable, increasing by just 1.3% overnight to reach $2.43 trillion.

As is typical, market leader Bitcoin ($BTC) set the trend for significant blockchain tokens. Bitcoin rose by 1% in the last 24 hours and is now trading at $66,153.

DogWifHat Price Analysis as WIF Breaks Out

While DogWifHat may have shown modest overnight gains, the price chart indicates a breakout above the $2 resistance level (red line) that emerged after a crypto crash on August 5, which had driven $WIF’s price below $1.30, a low not seen since early March.

The token has robust support (green line) at $1.50, but the declining RSI at 64 suggests that some selling is counterbalancing the buying activity, stabilizing the price as the weekend approaches.

Overall, it is evident that DogWifHat has gained from a surge in meme coins.

This speculative excitement is associated with a more favorable macroeconomic outlook, as the US Federal Reserve has lowered interest rates for the first time in two years, following a period of increases to their highest level in twenty-two years last summer.
