Deutsche Telekom Becomes a Validator for Injective
On Thursday, the interoperable Layer-1 blockchain Injective announced that Deutsche Telekom’s subsidiary MMS has officially joined its network as a validator.
According to the press release provided to Cryptonews, the telecommunications giant “will play a crucial role in operating and securing the Injective blockchain.”
The Injective team highlighted that the network’s applications include digital asset trading, tokenization, lending, and payments. Validators contribute to ensuring the security, accuracy, and dependability of all these services.
Additionally, it stated that this partnership represents “a significant milestone for the institutional focus” of Injective.

Injective expressed that it is “excited” to collaborate with one of the leading telecommunications companies globally “to help secure our network and validate transactions,” stated Injective CEO Eric Chen.
This partnership exemplifies the increasing institutional integration of Web3 into “a society that recognizes that a decentralized blockchain provides reliability and security, which is paramount when addressing financial matters,” Chen remarked.
According to Oliver Nyderle, Head of Digital Trust and Web3 Infrastructure at Deutsche Telekom MMS, this collaboration will promote genuine decentralization and enhance security for all users.
“This partnership aligns with our commitment to merge technology with safety and trust, thereby enabling secure growth for individuals, and we look forward to being part of this future,” he stated.
Meanwhile, in early February, Injective launched an on-chain index through its DEX Helix, with the goal of tokenizing all financial assets, allowing for their sale, purchase, and trading entirely on-chain.

Doubling Down on Web3
Injective is the interoperable layer-1 blockchain that offers a comprehensive suite of products for developers and end-users. Binance has incubated it, while investors such as Bounce Crypto, Pantera, and Mark Cuban support it.
Furthermore, according to the team, Injective ranks as a top L1 based on protocol value. It has facilitated over 1 billion transactions on-chain.
As per DeFiLlama, at the time of writing, the chain had a total value of $39.48 million (TVL) and $4.18 million in 24-hour volume.
At the same time, the INJ coin has risen by 1% in a day, currently trading at $13.76. It has decreased by 12% over the week, 27% over the month, and 63% over the year.

Meanwhile, according to the website, Deutsche Telekom has over 252 million mobile customers. It boasts 25 million fixed-network lines and 22 million broadband lines.
Additionally, the company operates in more than 50 countries. It reported revenue of 112 billion Euros in the 2023 financial year.
Moreover, the company is familiar with Web3 and blockchain. In November 2023, Deutsche Telekom MMS became a validator for a privacy-enhancing layer-1 blockchain Aleph Zero.
By June 2023, over 60 million euros of assets from Chainlink, Ethereum, Celo, Q, Flow, Polkadot, Polygon, and Energy Web were on the company’s infrastructure.
And Deutsche Telekom was far from finished. Dirk Röder, Head of the Web3 Infrastructure and Solutions Group at Deutsche Telekom MMS, stated in November 2023 that there were more updates and developments in the pipeline. The company is committed to keeping pace with the evolving digital landscape, he noted.
“Deutsche Telekom is actively exploring and working on additional initiatives and partnerships within the blockchain and Web3 space,” Röder added.
