Deutsche Börse Introduces Institutional Platform for OTC Crypto Trading
Deutsche Börse Group, via its subsidiary, has introduced a settlement solution for over-the-counter (OTC) trading of digital assets, enabling institutional clients to execute trades without transferring assets out of custodial storage.
Crypto Finance has unveiled AnchorNote, a collateral settlement solution based on the custodial storage of digital assets. This initiative aims to enhance capital efficiency, lower risks, and allow institutional investors to trade across various venues while maintaining their assets in regulated custody.
Crypto Finance operates as a subsidiary of Deutsche Börse Group, authorized to offer crypto trading and custody services by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) and Germany’s Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin).
AnchorNote is connected with the BridgePort platform, serving as an intermediary service provider and coordination layer that links clients directly to multiple trading venues. This framework facilitates a complete OTC settlement cycle, encompassing collateral management to post-trade clearing.
Clients are provided with dedicated trading lines and the capability to swiftly reallocate collateral among various counterparties. The system features a user-friendly interface for rapid onboarding along with API integration for organizations that have their own infrastructure.
Philipp E. Dettwiler, Head of Custody and Settlement at Crypto Finance, stated that AnchorNote closes the essential gap between custody and effective capital utilization, delivering institutional clients real-time operations with a high degree of security.
The solution is powered by Crypto Finance’s established settlement engine, which removes the necessity for pre-funding trades, reduces counterparty risk, and offers immediate access to prominent trading venues. As highlighted by Nirup Ramalingam, CEO of BridgePort, the infrastructure established on AnchorNote creates a scalable asset mobility system that is greatly sought after by institutional traders.
The initial deployment is scheduled in Switzerland, with plans for subsequent expansion into European markets.
Deutsche Börse Group initiated its custody and management service for BTC and ETH targeting institutional clients in March 2025.
