Former Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao has contributed $10 million in BNB tokens to the open-source biotech projects of Ethereum co-founder Vitalik, disclosing the donation months after the private transfer occurred.

CZ revealed the donation while expressing appreciation for a YZi Labs post regarding people-centered biotech solutions, indicating he was “just doing my small part” to promote healthcare innovation.

The contribution bolsters Buterin’s biotech research initiatives via his Kanro fund, which is dedicated to advancing biotechnology research and philanthropic efforts.

CZ also noted further private donations to various charities, which have produced “positive outcomes,” that he intends to disclose soon.

His philanthropic efforts also extend to aiding victims of cryptocurrency scams, including a donation of 150 BNB ($100,000) to LIBRA meme coin victims and additional contributions for the TST and BROCCOLI token failures.

Vitalik’s philanthropic approach centers on converting meme coins sent to his public wallet into charitable donations, with over $60 million in proceeds supporting pandemic research, longevity projects, and AI development since 2021.

The Ethereum Foundation has also committed $500,000, with matching funds of up to $750,000, for Storm’s defense against federal charges.
