Veronica Wong, CEO and Co-Founder of SafePal, addressed attendees during a keynote at the TON Gateway conference regarding the rollout of the Telegram Mini Wallet app. This application will enable users of the messaging platform to set up personalized crypto accounts in Swiss banks that adhere to the regulatory standards set by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA). The app is anticipated to be fully operational by November 2024.

As per Veronica, this wallet will be the first mini app on Telegram to embody the principles of centralized-decentralized finance (CeDeFi) and will facilitate digital cryptocurrency transactions via the Visa payment network.

After completing registration and KYC processes provided by the Swiss FinTech firm Fiat24, users will have the ability to access their bank accounts and link them to a digital Visa card. Each user’s registration information will be stored securely, with access limited to the relevant departments of Fiat24, in accordance with FINMA banking regulations.

The card will be usable for transactions across all nations within the European Economic Area, as well as in select countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including China, Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand. SafePal’s infrastructure will support the utilization of digital assets across more than 100 blockchains.

The company also aims to introduce a Mastercard digital card in the fourth quarter of 2024 and to enhance its footprint in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. Furthermore, SafePal plans to collaborate on the launch of a hardware wallet with TON and Telegram.

Max Krupyshev, CEO of CryptoProcessing.com, remarked during the Purpose Driven FinTech podcast on the increasing demand for crypto financial solutions and notable regulatory shifts. He identified the development of cost-effective and rapid payment solutions as a key trend in blockchain technology today, highlighting blockchain networks TRON, Solana, and TON as leaders in this area.

In early 2024, Telegram users gained the ability to make payments with TON for various tourism-related activities in over 230 countries, as well as to hail taxis in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia using TON and for payment.
