CoinMarketCap Launches ‘Killer Whales’ Program, Inspired by Shark Tank

In a move reminiscent of “Shark Tank,” CoinMarketCap has partnered with a Web3 entertainment firm known as Hello Labs, established by the acclaimed Hollywood director and producer Paul Caslin, to launch a competition series aimed at both entertaining and educating global audiences about the complexities and advancements in the Web3 sector.
The forthcoming reality series is anticipated to blend elements of Web3 with entertainment.
Killer Whales
As stated in the official blog post, the new show seeks to address the increasing interest of billions of Web3 users by offering a worldwide platform for projects, regardless of their size, within the cryptocurrency and NFT domains.
Titled “Killer Whale,” the reality series is produced by HELLO Labs along with other undisclosed co-producers. It closely mirrors the format of Shark Tank, where participants will present their crypto and NFT initiatives to a panel of industry specialists and judges known as “Whales,” aiming to gain the mentorship necessary to elevate their projects.

The pitches will receive either “Swim” or “Sink” votes. The objective is to gather as many votes as possible from the judges “to have a chance at leading the series leaderboard and being declared the series champion,” according to the announcement.
“We aim to amplify the voice of the entire Web3 community through our platform while producing the show, so we have created a method for communities to vote for their preferred projects and NFTs and demonstrate their support. With the assistance of our judges, contestants will have the chance to realize their vision and make a notable impact in the cryptocurrency landscape.”
Prospective candidates can begin submitting their applications from May 2nd to Hello.one and CoinMarketCap. The applications will be evaluated by professional representatives from the industry. The chosen projects will undergo multiple rounds of interviews in Los Angeles. Killer Whales is set to start filming in June and will later be available on major streaming platforms.
Web3 Shows
Innovations in Web3 are driving some of the most thrilling and transformative changes in the world today. In mid-2021, the creators of “Entourage” introduced the first scripted television series focused on digital assets titled “Hold On for Dear Life.”
Recently, Web3 story studio Toonstar announced the launch of its new adult-animated series, Space Junk, marking its third original Web3 series release. Additionally, “Krapopolis,” the Web3 animated series from “Rick and Morty” co-creator Dan Harmon, is also scheduled for release this year.
