Payment processor Visa and cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase have announced a collaboration. This initiative will enable Visa debit cardholders to fund their Coinbase accounts in real time, as well as facilitate immediate crypto purchases and swift withdrawals to bank accounts.
Visa and Coinbase have formed an agreement that will permit Visa debit cardholders in the United States and the European Union to execute instant deposits and withdrawals on the Coinbase cryptocurrency platform.

With this new arrangement, Coinbase users will have the ability to buy cryptocurrency and transfer funds to a bank account in real time. The initiative aims to enhance the service’s usability for Coinbase customers by reducing wait times and ensuring secure money transfers. Yanilsa Gonzalez Ore, Head of Visa Direct, North America for Visa, stated that this partnership will facilitate 24/7 trading capabilities on Coinbase through Visa debit cards.
Akash Shah, Senior Director of Product Management at Coinbase, noted that the collaboration with the payment leader will empower the cryptocurrency exchange to broaden economic freedom by granting customers complete control over their assets. He mentioned that the integration with Visa Direct allows Coinbase users to quickly top up their balance for active trading and withdraw funds to their bank with minimal delay.
Visa’s services for issuing crypto cards are utilized by FV Bank, Avalanche, dtcpay, SafePal, Transak, and several others.
